Three members of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe Indians of Minnesota were arrested on Wednesday as part of an ongoing protest against Chairwoman Erma Vizenor.

The White Earth Camp Justice 2010 has camped out at tribal headquarters for seven days. The protest remained peaceful until tribal police decided to move the group away from the building.

Two brothers were arrested for videotaping the events, their mother said. A third man was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

“The tribal council or police don’t follow the laws, and we have no freedom on our reservation,” Diana King, the mother of Darwin and Marty Seeger, told The Detroit Lakes Tribune.

Tribal members have submitted a petition to remove Vizenor from office. A hearing has reportedly been scheduled today.
