White Earth group camps at headquarters to protest leadership
Members of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe Indians of Minnesota who oppose Chairwoman Erma Vizenor are staging a protest a tribal headquarters.

The White Earth Camp Justice 2010 has been at headquarters for at least the past three days. The protest was uneventful until an apparent clash with tribal officers on Monday that the group documented on its Facebook page.

But the county sheriff told The Fargo Forum said he doesn't plan on sending anyone to the reservation because there was “no reason to.” The sheriff said rumors about the group's intentions and actions have been “extremely exaggerated.”

"We have shown where the real power is. Its not Erma, Ron or anyone else. The power is with the people," the group said in a posting earlier today.
