Authorities identified a body recovered along a river as a missing 14-year-old boy from Sagkeeng First Nation in Manitoba.

Tyler Arkinson wast last seen on March 21. He had been at a house party when he left, apparently on his own, into the frigid weather.

His body surfaced on Monday along the Winnipeg River, not far from the house. Authorities don't yet know the cause of death but it's possible he may have fallen into the river.

"Our prayers have been answered. I wasn't going to give up until he was found," Tyler's mother, Darlene Arkinson, told Sun Media. "Now we know where he is. It brings some closure for us."

An autopsy was underway.
