Perennial political candidate Ron Volesky, a member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, is making another bid for South Dakota attorney general.
Volesky, a former state lawmaker, lost to Republican Larry Long in 2006. Long fought tribes on land-into-trust, sovereignty, taxation and jurisdiction issues.
Long's successor is Republican Marty Jackley, who served as U.S. Attorney for South Dakota under the Bush administration.
Volesky criticized Jackley for joining a lawsuit against the national health reform bill, which includes the Indian
Health Care Improvement Act.
Volesky just lost the Democratic primary for a state Senate seat and has lost earlier campaigns for governor.
