DOJ grant to fund two officers for Round Valley Reservation
The Department of Justice awarded a $500,000 grant to the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office to fund two deputies on the Round Valley Reservation.

The money comes from DOJ's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. Of the total, $350,000 will pay for the deputies to work and reside on the reservation for 18 months.

"COPS is pleased to support such an innovative collaboration between a tribe and a neighboring local law enforcement agency," COPS Director Bernard K. Melekian said in a press release.

The tribal headquarters is in Covelo.
