Three people have been charged with stealing money from the Santee Sioux Tribe in Nebraska.
Karen Red Owl, 51, is accused of embezzlement. She allegedly used her position in the tribal court to alter deposit slips and take money from a tribal bank account.
Duane Whipple, 41, is accused of embezzlement. He allegedly his position in the tribe's finance office to issue unauthorized payroll advances and unauthorized checks.
Bianco White, 36, is accused of theft. White allegedly stole money from slot machines at the tribe's casino.
The U.S. Attorney's Office in Nebraska said the three crimes are unrelated.
