Adam Beach urges Ho-Chunk youth to avoid drugs, alcohol
Actor Adam Beach spoke to youth of the Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin, encouraging them to stay away from drugs and alcohol.

"It's our choice that defines who we are,” Beach said, The Jackson County Chronicle reported. “We all have a choice.”

Beach, who is Ojibwa from Canada, lost his mother in a drunk driving accident on the Dog Creek First Nations Reserve in Manitoba. Two months later, his father drowned in a boating accident that was linked to alcohol.

Beach later got involved with gangs and drugs when he was 14. He said getting into movies helped steer him away from crime.
