A school board in South Dakota plans to address racial and cultural issues following an incident in which students wore “White Pride World Wide” t-shirts.
Six students wore the t-shirts to Chamberlain School on April 28. They said they were upset that Indian students wear "Native Pride" shirts.
School board members said the incident showed them about the need to address racial and cultural issues. About 36 percent of the student body is Indian.
Four students were sent home when they refused to change their shirts. The back of the t-shits featured an image associated with white supremacy groups, along with the word "cracker."
