Six students from the Red Cloud Indian School on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota have earned Bill and Melinda Gates Millennium Scholarships.
Jeremy Blacksmith, Sarah Herman, Blaine Leftwich, Montana Sierra, Jacey Twiss and Autumn White Eyes won full-ride scholarships.
Red Cloud had the most recipients of any school in South Dakota.
Red Cloud also had the second largest number of scholarships recipients of any school in the nation. Santa Fe Indian School in New Mexico had the most.
