Police in California are investigating the death of U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Jason Kameroff, who was from the Alaska Native village of Aniak.
Kameroff, 21, was found dead at an apartment in Fallbrook on Sunday morning. He had been stationed at Camp Pendleton.
Kameroff reportedly had been drinking heavily on Saturday night before he passed out. Friends called 911 when he was unresponsive the next morning.
Kameroff enlisted in June 2006. He served in Iraq.
