IAIA president wins American Indian College Fund award
Robert Martin, the president of the Institute of American Indian Arts in New Mexico, has received the 2010 American Indian College Fund Tribal College Honoree award.
Martin, a member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, was selected for being an outstanding leader within the tribal college movement. He was presented with the award at the American Indian Higher Education Consortium student conference in Arizona last night.
“I was completely surprised to find out I would be the Tribal College Honoree for 2010," Martin said in a press release. "It is an honor and I am humbled to be the recipient.”
The award is sponsored by the Castle Rock Foundation.
