The Department of Agriculture awarded a $37.9 million loan to the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe of South Dakota.
The tribe's Telephone Authority will use the money for a fiber optic system that will bring Internet service to homes and businesses on the reservation.
"USDA's investment in telecommunications services will continue to meet the growing needs of homeowners and business in rural America as we continue striving to spur economic activity and job creation," Secretary Tom Vilsack said in a press release.
