The Department of Justice won't be charging former House leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) in connection with the Jack Abramoff scandal.
As a Republican leader, DeLay used his position to benefit Abramoff's tribal and non-tribal clients. He also accepted donations from Abramoff's clients and took a trip to the United Kingdom that was partially funded by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.
The investigation lasted six years. Only one other member of Congress was ever charged in connection with the scandal.
