Sen. Robert Byrd (D-West Virginia), the longest-serving member of Congress, died on Sunday. He was 92.
Byrd joined the Senate in 1958. He was re-elected a record nine times.
Gov. Joe Manchin (D) will reportedly select a replacement to serve the remainder of Byrd's term, which would leave the Senate in Democratic control.
