The Chippewa Cree Tribe of
Montana is awaiting a preliminary flood damage assessment from the Federal Emergency Management
Agency.
The tribe hopes to secure federal funds to recover and rebuild the Rocky Boy's Reservation. About 500 homes were damaged from floods and heavy rains, and a number of roads and bridges were washed out.
The preliminary assessment will take about three days, a spokesperson for the tribe said.
