Members of the Crow Creek Sioux
Tribe of South Dakota went to the polls last Thursday.
Incumbent chairman Brandon Sazue Sr. lost his bid for re-election by just 11 votes. Former chairman Duane Big Eagle Sr. won the post.
Sazue was the victim of a federal criminal retaliation case that saw three former tribal leaders sentenced to prison.
