Nathan Spurr, the son of the late chairwoman of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians of Michigan, is running for tribal council.
Nathan Spurr is eying one of 13 open council seats. The election will be held April 24, when tribal members will chose a replacement for chairwoman Laura Spurr, who died on February 24.
Nathan Spurr served on the tribe's gaming commission until he was suspended for alleged malfeasance. He resigned last December after being accused of having inappropriate relationships with casino employees.
