Two women who were sentenced to probation in hate crime attacks on Indians in Rapid City, South Dakota, were back before a judge on Wednesday.

Jenna Gitzke and Miranda Sheldon, both 21, violated their five-year probation sentences by providing alcohol to a minor. But Judge A.P. Fuller gave them another chance to stay out of trouble.

“I can’t fix stupid,” Fuller told the women, The Rapid City Journal reported.

Last June, Gitzke and Sheldon, 21 admitted to one count of malicious intimidation or harassment. They pleaded guilty for verbal and physical attacks on two separate groups of Native Americans in December 2008.

Fuller said if the women break the law again they will go to jail.
