Three tribal leaders have endorsed North Dakota Gov. John Hoeven (R) in his bid for the U.S. Senate.
Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation Chairman Marcus Levings, Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Chairman Charles Murphy and Spirit Lake Dakotah Nation Chairwoman Myra Pearson will serve on the Hoeven for Senate Honorary Committee. They are joining 33 mayors on the committee.
Hoeven is seeking the Republican nomination to replace Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-North Dakota), the chairman of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee. Dorgan is leaving at the end of the year.
