A federal judge postponed a hearing in the federal recognition lawsuit of the Mishewal Wappo Tribe of California.
The tribe was terminated by an act of Congress in 1959. But the Interior Department failed to abide
by the law, the tribe says in the lawsuit.
Sonoma County is seeking to intervene in the case. Officials are worried about the possibility of a casino or other type of development.
The hearing will be held March 8.
