San Manuel Band gives $1.7M for Haiti telief efforts
The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians of California is donating $1.7 million to relief efforts in Haiti.

The tribe is giving $1.5 million to the American Red Cross and $200,000 to Doctors Without Borders. “At this time of unimaginable grief and destruction we are called to act to prevent the further loss of life and ease the suffering of survivors,” Chairman James Ramos said in a press release.

Haiti was struck by an earthquake on January 12.
