The Morongo Band of Mission Indians will distribute 9,000 turkeys to charities and non-profits in southern California.
The tribe received twice as many requests for turkeys this year. "We know what it means to struggle," Chairman Robert Martin told The Riverside Press-Enterprise.
The tribe has donated turkeys for about 20 years.
