San Manuel Band to hold ceremony for court
The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians of California opens the doors to its tribal court on October 23.

The tribe set up a trial court and an appellate court. The courts will only hear civil cases at this time.

"No criminal issues are going to be addressed because that's how the tribe's judicial ordinance or code was crafted," spokesperson Jacob Coin told The Redlands Daily Facts.

The tribe will swear in six judges at the ceremony.
