The White Mountain Apache Tribe of Arizona is suing the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut over an estimated $6 million in medical claims.
The Apaches hired Pequot Plus Health Benefit Services to administer third-party medical claims for tribal employees.
The Apaches say their costs soon began to skyrocket due to alleged mishandling in 2007 and 2008.
The Apaches terminated their contract with Pequot Plus Health Benefit Services at the end of 2008. The lawsuit was filed in Pequot tribal court.
