The Hopi Tribe of Arizona passed a resolution that criticizes the Sierra Club and other environmental groups for their stance on a power plant.

The tribe depends on jobs and revenues from the Navajo Generating Station, a coal-fired power plant in Arizona. The Sierra Club and other groups have been calling for the closure of the facility.

"This group here has done so much to damage our tribal reputation and to violate our civil rights," former chairman Ben Nuvamsa told The Arizona Republic of the Sierra Club. "As tribal members, we are all environmentalists because we're supposed to take care of Mother Earth."

The resolution is largely symbolic and won't result in members of the groups being arrested or removed from the reservation.
