The Wyoming Coalition for Open Government asked a federal judge to release information about the deaths of three teens on the Wind River Reservation.
Ohetica Win Elyxis Gardner, 13; Winter Rose Thomas, 14; and Alexandrea "Alex" Whiteplume, 15, were found dead on June 4, 2008, in a tribal housing complex.
Details about the crime -- including the causes of death -- have not been disclosed, apparently because juveniles were involved.
The group, which represents media and other organizations, previously asked Judge William B. Downes to acknowledge the existence of a juvenile case related to the girls' deaths. But Downes did not respond, attorney Bruce Moats said.
"I think it's important for the public, when there's apparently an unnatural death, to know why," Moats told the Associated Press. "Parents may be able to adjust their behavior accordingly."
