Canada's Health Minister said First Nations will be among the first to receive a vaccine for the H1N1 virus, commonly
known as swine flu.
Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq, who is Inuit, said Native people have been hit hard by the virus. She is developing guidelines for who will be the first to receive the vaccine.
"In Nunavut, in my riding alone, we have 560 cases of H1N1, 85 per cent of my population are Inuit," Aglukkaq told CBC News.
First Nations leaders have criticized the government for not responding to the virus quicker.
