Ron Volesky, a member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, is once again running for governor of South Dakota.

Volesky, an attorney and former state lawmaker, has held public office as a Democrat and a Republican. He's running as a Democrat this year.

Volesky ran for governor in 2002 and 2006, for attorney general in 2006 and once sought consideration as head of the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
