Rebecca Miles is stepping down from the executive committee of the Nez Perce Tribe of Idaho to serve as executive director.

Miles was first elected to the executive committee in 2004. A year later, she became the first woman to serve as chair of the tribe.

Miles starts her job as executive director today.
