About 40 young members of the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians took part in the tribe's Traditional Knowledge Summer Youth Program.
The six-week program teaches youth about Pechanga traditions. They learn about sacred sites, traditional foods, housing and the Luiseno language.
"It's good to learn this because we can pass it on to the younger generations and keep it going," Darla Morreo, 15, told The Riverside Press-Enterprise. The tribe started the program seven years ago.
