An urban Indian clinic in California has already cut hours and may be forced to reduce even more services due to budget cuts.

The American Indian Healing Center in Whittier usually receives an annual $170,000 grant from the state. But the money won't be coming this year because Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) vetoed a budget that contained funds for low-income health clinics.

"If we can't replace those state dollars with other sources of support, that will affect our ability to remain, offer the care and provide the services further," John Andrews, the center's executive director, told The Whittier Daily News.

The clinic's annual budget is about $600,000.
