Indian business lands $3.5M Defense contract
Keres Consulting Inc., an Indian-owned business in New Mexico, landed a $3.5 million contract to support the Native American Land Environmental Mitigation Program at the Department of Defense.

Keres will help the program gather and analyze information about the effects of Defense activities on Indian lands. The contract runs for two years.

"The NALEMP project has allowed Keres the opportunity to further its understanding of American Indian and Alaska Native tribal governments, which presents a tremendous opportunity for our small business,” Timothy Chavez (Acoma Pueblo), the president and CEO of Keres, said in a press release. "We are pleased to continue our relationship with the Department of Defense and to provide ongoing support to tribal communities across the country."

Keres has worked for the NALEMP under a contract since 2004.
