The Department of Education awarded a $1.28 million grant to the College of St. Scholastica in Minnesota for an Ojibwe language program.
The Ojibwe Language and Culture Education program will use the money to support Indian students who want to teach and work on reservations. The students major in elementary or secondary education and in Ojibwe language and culture education.
The grant came from the Office of Indian Education.
