Nevada prisons allow tobacco for ceremonies
The Nevada Department of Corrections will allow Indian inmates to use tobacco during religious ceremonies.

The department banned the use of tobacco for inmates and staff on July 1. But director Howard Skolnik said Indian inmates will be exempt from the policy.

Skolnik told the Nevada Indian Commission that the department will be working out a process to acquire a limited amount of tobacco for use in ceremonies.
