A judge in South Dakota scheduled an August 11 evidentiary hearing in the case against Michael J. Valandra, a suspended council member for the Rosebud Sioux Tribe.
Valandra, 49, charged with three counts of solicitation of a minor and one count of sexual contact with a child under 16. He is asking the state to present its evidence against him.
Valandra has been suspended from the council without pay.
