Nelvette Siemion, a member of the Crow Tribe of Montana, is seeking more than $133,000 from the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Siemion says the BIA wrongfully rounded up 175 bison belonging to her and her husband. She is suing for the cost of retrieving the animals, as well as injury and damages to the herd.
Siemion also says the BIA awarded some of her leases to another tribal member.
