Judge allows bridge opposed by Miccosukee Tribe
A federal judge has cleared the way for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to build a bridge in the Florida Everglades.

Judge Ursula Ungaro had issued an injunction that prevented construction of the bridge. The Miccosukee Tribe said the government failed to adequately study the project.

But Ungaro said a short clause in the fiscal year 2009 Omnibus Appropriations Act backed the bridge. The tribe is considering an appeal.

"This is the Obama administration arguing that science is not needed and analysis is not needed,'' attorney Dexter Lehtinen told The Miami Herald.
