Muscogee Nation buys land for controversial bridge

The Muscogee (Creek) Nation appears to be moving forward with a bridge project that officials in the city of Tulsa, Oklahoma, oppose.

The tribe purchased three parcels totaling about 43 acres on the northern bank of the Arkansas River. The land is expected to be used for a bridge near the tribe's casino.

The tribe plans to submit a land-into-trust application for the properties. City officials say they will send letters to the Bureau of Indian Affairs in opposition.
