Nez Perce Tribe concerned after shooting death
The Nez Perce Tribe of Idaho is asking the FBI to keep open the lines of communication after another shooting incident on the reservation.

The FBI is investigating the death of 50-year-old Randall Vernon Ellenwood, a tribal member who was shot by an Idaho State Trooper on Monday. Ricardo Daniel Rodriguez, 37, also a tribal member, was wounded during the incident.

Separately, the FBI is investigating the death of a 21-year-old Gabriel Pena Warden, a tribal member, who was shot during an alleged break-in on April 24. The tribe is concerned about both cases, Chairman Sam Penney said.

"I think some of the concerns from tribal membership would be the role of the FBI in these investigations, what type of communication they have with tribal membership, even to the extent of some counseling," Penney told KLEW-TV.
