The Indian Health Care Resource Center will break ground next month on an expansion that will double the size of the facility, The Tulsa World reports.
Construction is expected to cost between $6 million and $7 million and will take about a year and half, the chief executive officer Carmelita Skeeter said. The facility will grow to about 51,000 square-feet.
The expansion will help the clinic serve a growing patient base. Monthly patient visits have grown from 2,500 a decade ago to between 6,000 and 7,000, Skeeter said.
The project also brings programs that were being housed in a satellite office under the same roof. "It will be nice to walk patients to where they need to go," Nancy O'Banion, the center's director of health and wellness, told hte paper. "We're looking forward to it."
