Indian art show canceled for first time in 38 years
The Eight Northern Indian Pueblos Arts & Crafts Show in New Mexico has been canceled for the first time in its 38-year history.

The show was due to be held July 18-19 at Ohkay Owingeh. But not enough artists signed up and only one sponsor was committed to the event.

"It's just the economy. The economy had its impact on artists and sponsors," Valerie Lyon, the director of programming and development at Eight Northern Indian Pueblos Council, told The Albuquerque Journal.

In prior years, the show featured the works of hundreds of Pueblo, Navajo, Cherokee and other artists.
