The Senate Indian Affairs Committee held a confirmation hearing this afternoon for Yvette Roubideaux to be director of the Indian Health Service. Roubideaux is a member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe of South Dakota. If confirmed, she would be the first Native woman to lead the IHS. The hearing lasted about an hour.
