Native actors cast as wolves in 'Twilight' sequel
Film director Chris Weitz said he wanted to make sure he cast Native actors in New Moon, the sequel to the popular Twilight vampire movie. "They had to have papers that proved their heritage," Welz told USA Today. "And they had to be in good physical shape." Wetz cast four Native actors as wolves. They are Chaske Spencer (Lakota), Alex Meraz (Purepecha), Kiowa Gordon (Hualapai) and Bronson Pelletier (Cree/Metis). The movies are based on the books from the Twilight series, which includes some characters identified as being from the Quileute Nation of Washington. Get the Story:
