A man from the Mescalero Apache Tribe of New Mexico has pleaded guilty to the murder of a fellow tribal member.
Joe Arviso pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. He admitted he beat Dustin Earl Pasewonit, 26, in January 2008.
Pasewonit was a snowboard instructor on the reservation. He was credited with saving the life of a woman on the reservation. After his death, his liver was donated to a girl who was near death.
