Pinoleville Band takes over hotel built in 1890
The Pinoleville Band of Pomo Indians is leasing a historic hotel in Hopland, California. The tribe has an option to buy the Hopland Inn, which was built in 1890, for around $1.5 million. "It’s a real estate investment for the tribe," a consultant told The Santa Rosa Press-Democrat. The purchase is part of the tribe's efforts to build an economy. The tribe is buying back its ancestral homelands and plans to build a casino on its reservation. Get the Story:
