The Indian Health Service is reducing emergency services at a facility on the Navajo Nation.
Fewer doctors are working at the Kayenta Health Center in Kayenta, Arizona. So the facility can no longer support 24-hour care, a spokesperson said.
The emergency room will be open from 8am to 10pm daily. The center is trying to recruit more doctors and staff.
"We are in the midst of hiring physicians," nurse Betty Lee told The Farmington Daily Times. "We recruit every day because of the shortage, and everyone is working on bringing in a permanent staff."
