The Oneida Nation will reopen a golf course today after reaching an agreement with the Hobart, Wisconsin, over taxes and assessments on the property.

The tribe agreed to place $107,000 in disputed fees in an escrow account. The fees were generated by the prior owners of the golf course, who declared bankruptcy.

The tribe bought the course, now known as Thornberry Creek at Oneida, for $10.8 million. A covenant requires the tribe to get written consent from the village if it wants the property placed in trust.
