National Congress of American Indians President Joe Garcia will deliver the 8th annual State of Indian Nations address today.
The speech takes place at 12pm in the Rasmuson Theatre at the National Museum of the American
Indian in Washington, D.C. It will also be broadcast at NCAI's website.
Garcia, the chairman of the All Indian Pueblos Council and a council member from Ohkay Owingeh in New Mexico, will discuss Indian Country’s priorities for the Obama administration and the 111th Congress. He also will discuss economic development, health care, sovereignty, homeland security and other issues.
