The National Indian Education
Association meets in Washington, D.C., this week for its annual legislative summit.
The event starts off this morning with the State of Native Education Address by NIEA President Robert B. Cook. The speech takes place at 9:30am on February 9 at the National
Press Club.
Attendees will then move to the Holiday Inn Capitol to hear from fellow organizations like the National Congress of American Indians and the National Indian Health Board. A session on impact aid is on the agenda.
On Tuesday, the meeting moves to Capitol Hill, where a number of members of Congress and federal officials will speak to attendees. The Congressional reception takes place in the evening.
