Kevin Peniska, the former publisher of Well Nations Magazine, was sentenced to 110 years on rape and child abuse charges.
Peniska, a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, pleaded guilty to raping two girls and abusing a boy. “Nothing I can do can take away all the hurt I done,” Peniska said at the sentencing hearing, The Rapid City Journal reported. “I am ashamed of what I did and my behavior.”
The state attorney called Peniska, 44, the “worst kind of hypocrite” because of his work on Native health and wellness issues. Peniska won't be eligible for parole for 55 years.
